Astrophyllite
A variety of Astrophyllite Group

What is Astrophyllite?
Astrophyllite is a rare mineral that often bears a distinctive crystalline form. Derived from the Greek words for “star” and “leaf”, astrophyllite crystals often occur in striking, star-like clusters. The mineral is transparent and usually takes on a golden or brownish hue – though occasionally used for jewelry, it is more often sought after by mineral collectors.
Etymology & Origins
Heavy, soft and fragile, astrophyllite typically forms as bladed, radiating stellate aggregates. It is this crystal habit that gives astrophyllite its name, from the Greek words astron meaning "star" and phyllon meaning "leaf".
Uses & Applications
Astrophyllite is a extremely rare mineral, and as such has very few uses outside of collector's pieces. However, it is often found near other important rocks and minerals, like mica and feldspar, making it an indicator for other commonly mined materials.
Healing Properties
Astrophyllite is believed to reveal a person's true self and help them discover their purpose in life. It is said to remove negative energy and advocate self-love and acceptance. Often called the marriage stone, it is believed to promote fidelity and many say it helps a person deal with major transformations throughout life. It is said to be more powerful when used on the third eye chakra, the soul star chakra, and the crown chakra.
