Demantoid specimen

What is Demantoid?

One of the rarest garnet varieties, demantoid is known for its striking green color. It so resembles an emerald that it was even called "Uralian emerald" when first discovered on the western sides of the Ural mountains. Due to its bright color and brilliant luster, this material is extremely popular among both gem collectors and jewelry enthusiasts. It is usually used for rings, brooches, and pins.

Uses & Applications

Demantoid is primarily valued for decorative uses due to its color and rarity. The famous Russian jeweler, Peter Carl Fabergé, made this gemstone quite popular when he started using it in jewelry. Today, demantoid is cut in faceted gems and used to make high-quality jewelry. Its rarity makes it highly prized among gem collectors.

Healing Properties

Many believe that demantoid can aid eyesight and heal the respiratory and immune systems. Those with arthritis and rheumatism may also benefit from it. Demantoid supposedly connects with the heart chakra, strengthening ongoing relationships and enhancing loving feelings in developing ones. It's believed to prevent the intake of negative energy, keeping you more optimistic.
