What is Schorl?
Schorl or schorl is one of several varieties of an important gem known as Tourmaline and it's probably the most common within this group. When raw, it's a black, opaque, needle-like crystal. A polished schorl was once used as a mourning jewel during the Victorian era, but it's rarely used in jewelry in modern times. The largest schorl crystal was found in Overlook (New York, USA). Its weight was 8 kg.
Healing Properties
The most protective of all crystals, schorl supports the base chakra. It is said to encourage balance and neutrality, release stress, and discharge tension. It also known to dispel anxious feelings and negative emotions, creating a relaxed environment. This stone can apparently be used in homes as a protection grid.
