A variety of Minerals

What is Mordenite?
Mordenite is a unique-looking mineral that can be white, pink, yellow, or colorless. Most notably, this mineral has transparent or translucent fibrous crystals that create a spiderweb effect. Mordenite can be found in some igneous rocks, which are rocks that solidified from molten rock. This mineral was named after its place of discovery, Morden, Nova Scotia.
Uses & Applications
Mordenite is commonly used as a catalyst because of its acidic properties and high thermal stability for hydrocracking, reforming, alkylation, and dewaxing. It is also for separation and purification uses, like for the separation and absorption of liquid and gas mixtures.
